Giving Tree Donations

Dear Friends of the Giving Tree,

Thank you for your support of the 2021 Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is a town-wide project which provides holiday gifts to local needy families directed by St. Anne's Human Services in cooperation with our Food Pantry, local churches, and other civic groups.

As we begin planning for the Giving Tree in 2021, we continue to find challenges during these unpredictable times. Our past program ran seamlessly for many years. Although things are looking better, the pandemic continues to create obstacles with large gatherings and trying to predict what the next month may bring.

With these thoughts in mind, we have decided to collect (new) jackets, boots, and gift cards this year. Parents appreciate jackets and boots, which can be very costly, and a gift card can help them purchase needed warm clothing and toys. This program better meets the contactless guidelines and is a safer alternative.

During the 2021 holiday season, we are collecting new jackets, boots, and gift cards in $10 to $50 values to local stores (Walmart, Target, Bob's, etc.). We support children ages from infant to 13 years old. Please feel free to purchase any sizes (boy or girl) and we will distribute accordingly.

Example Boot Sizes:
  • Toddler 6, 7, 8
  • Children 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2, 3
  • Youth 4, 5, 6, 7
  • Older Youth and Adult sizes 8, 9, 10
Example Jacket Sizes
  • 18-24 months and Toddler 2T, 3T, 4T
  • Children 5, 6, 6X, 7, 8, 10
  • Youth 12, 14, 16
  • Older Youth and Adult sizes Medium, Large, and X-Large

If you would like to make a donation, please drop off to a volunteer on Monday, Wednesday, or Fridays from 10 to 12 starting November 1 in the Human Services Office (downstairs under the church — use the left double door in the rear of the church) or contact Evelyn Jenkins to coordinate delivery or pick-up. We would like to collect all donations by December 5 and hope to give items to the families on December 6 and 13. This early collection will allow time for the parents to shop for the children.

Thank you for your continued support of the important work we do. Your generosity makes a great impact on our community and helps us with our own mission to support local families in need.

We wish you a safe, warm holiday season and look forward to working with you again this year.

Sincerely,

Evelyn Jenkins
